May 22nd
This morning, I woke up and I felt like getting up immediately although it was Sunday and the time was very early.
I didn't want to be distressed on my free day, so I decided to phone my brother and suggest him going to the mountain just to walk around there. In no time at all, he agreed and told me that he was feeling enthusiastic and surprised because of my call. For me, it's very grateful that one relative treats you in this way. Making him express his feelings (he rarely does it to me) made me stay overjoyed all the day.
If that wasn't enough, our parents came to the mountain after ua and prepared a picnic, which was welcome and perfect to finish the family trip.
Now I am quite tired, but before going to sleep I wanted to write some words about today to preserve it in my memories.

My Favourite Restaurant
My favourite restaurant is located in the northern entrance of Berga, the town where I live, and its name is La Cabana. The food is always food and generally based on Berga's specialities such as mushrooms. However, other ordinary dishes like pasta or soup are also available.
The building left me speechless the first time I saw it because as it is separated from the city centre, it is similar to a modern rural house, which made me feel very comfortable.
But what really calls my attention is the wonderful views that you can see while you are having your meal, yet the walls are glass so you can appreciate, from the highest place of the Berga's hill, a general view of our city.
Not only you can eat here, but also you can drink coffee or tea with a partner or a group of friends because next to the restaurant, they have one big terrace with a bar. It is very quiet and relaxing, perfect to enjoy spending a lovely time.
From my point of view, it is worthy going there. Be sure that you won't forget the meal and you will repeat.
I strongly recommend visiting and trying the marvellous food. Everything is fine and good, although it can seem a little expensive on Sundays.

Blind Dates
Nowadays, Internet is used by everyone, so meeting new people in live has been replaced by getting to know different people and flirting while you are chatting on the computer, for lots of modern people.
On the one hand, it is useful because a shy person can get in touch with new friends quickly and easily. Choose who you think you will like from anywere and immediately you can meet each other and discuss the topics you both like most.
On the other hand, it is very dangerous because you don't know who is behind the screen and if you meet, he can hurt or disappoint you. Lies are often used and blind dates offer lack of compromise.
From my point of view, it's better the traditional way, because love comes slowly and it can be more exciting if you talk next to each other before dating directly.

EDIBLE FOOD?
9th February 2011
A group of ten English teenagers became ill after the party they had in an ordinary restaurant. It took place in a restaurant located far away from the city of London, in the forest.
Their celebration started at 7pm on Monday last week. They all ordered pizza because they thought it would be fast and easy to cook so it was unlikely that any boy or girl disliked his or her meal.
The suprise for them was that, although every dish looked tasty and delicious, once they had eaten everything and finished with the dessert they began to feel sick. Then they phoned their parents, who next complained to the restaurant owners.
The investigation is going on at the moment and researchers say it is possible that the rotten ingredient was the tomato sauce.

A FILM REVIEW
Be sure that if you see the film: "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", you will become a better person. The thing is that good people always get luck from the life and the world.
The film starts in a city where there is the largest chocolate factory owned by Willy Wonka since 15 years ago.
Unfortunately, some bad spies get the recipe of his candy so he has to close the business forever.
Before ending with his factory, he decides to open for a guide tour, only for one day, to five lucky children who found a ticket in a chocolate bar. Those boys and girls are very different to each other, anyway they begin the visit.
Willy Wonka says that only one of them will get a rpize at the end, and it is the most exciting part of the film.
I really recommend it to people of all ages, because it is fun to everyone. They sing some songs to make it entertaining. Even there is one beautiful part which makes you think and assess the importance of our families that everybody should see. To sum up, in my opinion you will have a good time watching it.

POLAR BEAR
The polar bear is a mammal that lives in the arctic regions of the world. Its scientific name is Ursus maritimus. His natural habitat is ice and water areas.
He can move and hunt on the ice and he can swim, too.
We find him in Alaska, Canada, Greenland and Siberia.
It is the biggest land carnivorous animal that exists today. He eats fish, seaweed, walruses and seals. He usually hunts seals guided by its good smell.
There are only about 25,000 left of this type in the world, so experts say it will probably disappear at the beginning of XXI century.
He is endangered, and the reason why is that the Climate Change is affecting the polar regions. Forecasts indicate that in few years, the ice will melt, and then its habitat won’t exist, its food sources either, so the polar bear will become extinct because of the warming of the area.
A good solution would be carried out first by people and then by the government, and it consists in people using renewable energies, to not to pollute and therefore, avoiding melting of the icecaps.
To sum up, people are involved in this issue of endangered animals. If we work well together we can achieve them not to disappear.

FINAL REFLECTION
Hello, my name is Marta and I am going to explain my opinion about the work we have done for the comenius project.
Thinking about all the activities, the one that I liked most was recording the recipe because I like cooking and it was an opportunity to enjoy it with my friends and what's more, using English.
I also liked writing about my favourite song, because it was beautiful and in the end I liked what I wrote, and doing an oral presentation because I had to make my classmates understand me with the help of the powerpoint and of my friends.
I don't think there is an activity harder than another one, but maybe doing the recipe was the one in which we had to do much work. The easiest one for us was learning about others' experience because we only had to listen to them. The rest of the activities were normal because I enjoyed learning and using English as always.
All the extra activities in class are funnier than doing exercises, but I really liked listening to songs, watching films... Reading a book is good but I don't like reader exams.
I didn't do the oral presentation alone, I did it with Clara and Joana. We helped each other so it was easier to use recourses. I was a little nervous but what I had to explain was quite easy
The ideas were organized and there were some fillers. I don't think we used a very rich vocabulary because the first thing we expected was that our classmates kept interested in what we were telling and they understood us.
Surely we didn't pronounce all words well but we used the right tone in each moment.
As I have worked a lot, if I was my teacher I would have a very good mark.
I had never had a blog like this before, and I like it a lot. I think it is nice and well-presented and it has the whole content.
I think the best of all this work is that we have been able to use what we have been studying during years in our English classes.
I have learnt much English and how to use it a little bit more correctly.
See you soon!

MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
It is a little hard for me to talk about my past shortly because there are a lot of experiences I would want to explain.
Thinking about my daily life, the first thing I remember is that I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. My parents had to start work very early, so at night, or in the afternoon depending on each day, I always went to sleep at my grandparents’ house, one week to my paternal grandparents’ and the next week to my maternal ones.
There, we played board games, even we cooked desserts.
Thinking about parties, I especially remember we used to celebrate my brother’s birthday and mine together. All the family came home and we had supper. We had a very big cake and all our cousins blew the candles out. Now, I have a picture of that moment and I always smile when I see it.
The thing that has changed most is Christmas. When I was a child it was the best holiday of the year. All was wonderful. I believed in its magic in a different way from now, because the last times my little cousins are who give excitement to this festivity.
I am growing up and I miss that time, when we lived each day without problems. But we have to go on, always thinking positively and looking ahead, because there are many things waiting for us to live and new emotions to feel.

Broken Strings
The song I've chosen is "Broken Strings", by James Morrison. It isn't my favorite one in English, but I couldn't take only one, so I decided for it. Broken Strings is sung by him and Nelly Furtado. They are fantastic together.
James Morrison Catchpole was born in the UK, on August 13th 1984. The genres are pop, soft rock and soul. He sings and also writes the lyrics for himself. Even he can play the guitar well. Nowadays, Morrison hasn't entered fame yet, but he's known around the world, because he began in 2006.
This song has made him be at the top of lists, so I think it is the most popular, but there are more, too. The song is about lost love from two ex-lovers. There's one, who has been cheated and he tries to hold on but it hurts too much. Something disappointing happened, he tries to forgive but it's not enough to make it all okay... He wants to begin again but he can't because he can't feel anything that his heart doesn't want to feel. I think the title says everything.
I like this song because of the lyrics. Also, there is something in the music that makes the song come inside. I agree with the meaning, everybody can pass through deception and love is the big topic.
When I listen to Broken Strings, it is usually when I'm a little sad and where I can be alone. It gives strength and energy to me, sometimes needed.
I love the general message given by this song, even my mood changes. It makes me think positively about going on when something isn't alright.
On the other hand, I find it the typical commercial song, and I wouldn't like me to like this. But we can't avoid it, so I will continue listening to them. I like Broken Strings in this way, I wouldn't change anything.
The images are simple. They display us the simplicity and the power of music. The images help us to feel the notes. I like the moment when the intensity starts. It is well-connected to the lyrics, since the girl appears at the suitable moment, and she doesn't appear clearly but she is shown in a glass, half blurred. There is fire, too.
To sum up, I recommend listening to this song, to try to feel its magic. It is a song that encourages ourselves and tells truths. The boy and the girl make a good couple and they sing perfectly. Finally... enjoy the music!

WHAT WILL BE MY FUTURE LIKE IN 20 YEARS?
Nowadays, I’m fifteen years old. Can I imagine myself being thirty-five? I’ll try it.
I think I won’t be perfect and I won’t have all I’d want, but some say dreaming is free.
Thinking about my appearance… I’ll be tall, but not much more than now. I’ll have soft and dark hair, and brown eyes. I’ll be quite fit.
And thinking about my personality… I’ll be friendly, responsible, good-tempered and strong inside. I’ll be a true friend of my friends, and lovely and close to my family.
I’ll live in a village, near a city. It will be situated on the plain, in Catalonia.
My house will be quite big; it will have a garden with a little playground for my children. The house will have two or three floors, and the rooms will be wide.
We’ll live together, my family and I. My husband (because I want to get married someday) will love me and our children (because I want to be mum someday). Also, I’ll get in touch with my brother and cousins, etc. very often.
I hope I’ll have no routine, or a small one. I have no idea, but maybe I’ll work as a foreign language teacher, as a basketball player, as a doctor..
The hobbies I want now to be mine in this future are going out into nature, playing the piano, doing sports… I think I’ll spend my free time with my family and myself.
My lifestyle will be enjoying each moment, learning from each day, living well, being happy and making the others happy.
Martaa.

HALLOWEEN STORY
It was a dark and stormy night when we were preparing everything to go out, and we were thinking what to do on Halloween’s Eve last year. I was trying on my new costume and my friends were trying on theirs. My brother was with us but our parents weren’t at home. Outside it was cold and rainy, sometimes a little windy. The sky was very dark and the streets were empty and wet.
We were preparing the Jack-o-lantern, a scary pumpkin, the make-up… when suddenly the light went off. We heard footsteps in the kitchen and upstairs. The door of the living room closed and it creaked.
In the twinkling of an eye all my friends hid behind the sofa and began to scream. We didn’t know what it was. Then, a head of a werewolf and another of a dracula appeared from the corridor. We were frightened.
I said to them: “PLEASE, DON’T HURT US, GO OUT, LEAVE HOME!”. They were approaching us slowly, with evil looks.
In some seconds one friend noticed the monsters were wearing trainers, and she said it. Then, these characters took off the masks, the false fangs, and laughed. We recognized them. They were my brother’s friends! We told them off for doing that horrible thing, but it was Halloween and we didn’t get angry. We went for trick-or-treating together and we had fun.

DAILY LIFE
My name's Marta and I'm forteen years old. I am tall, thin and I've got dark hair. I have brown eyes. I live in Berga, with my family in a flat. I go to high school every day, but I don't know what I want to be in the future.
I'm very active. I like doing activities, learning about everything... but I also like resting on the sofa, watching TV, and sleeping until late.
My daily routine is a bit different each day. First, I get up at half past seven and I have a shower. I have breakfast, put on my clothes, take the bag and with some neighbour friends we go to school together. Then, in the evenings, I go to music and English classes, I go to play basketball...
On my free time, I spend some of this doing homework but when I haven't got any I also do hobbies, like walking or running in the nature, playing computer and going out with friends. In winter I ski; I love it! In summer I like running through the beach. I like going shopping, too.
