MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

It is a little hard for me to talk about my past shortly because there are a lot of experiences I would want to explain.

Thinking about my daily life, the first thing I remember is that I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. My parents had to start work very early, so at night, or in the afternoon depending on each day, I always went to sleep at my grandparents’ house, one week to my paternal grandparents’ and the next week to my maternal ones.
There, we played board games, even we cooked desserts.

Thinking about parties, I especially remember we used to celebrate my brother’s birthday and mine together. All the family came home and we had supper. We had a very big cake and all our cousins blew the candles out. Now, I have a picture of that moment and I always smile when I see it.

The thing that has changed most is Christmas. When I was a child it was the best holiday of the year. All was wonderful. I believed in its magic in a different way from now, because the last times my little cousins are who give excitement to this festivity.

I am growing up and I miss that time, when we lived each day without problems. But we have to go on, always thinking positively and looking ahead, because there are many things waiting for us to live and new emotions to feel.

Broken Strings

The song I've chosen is "Broken Strings", by James Morrison. It isn't my favorite one in English, but I couldn't take only one, so I decided for it. Broken Strings is sung by him and Nelly Furtado. They are fantastic together.
James Morrison Catchpole was born in the UK, on August 13th 1984. The genres are pop, soft rock and soul. He sings and also writes the lyrics for himself. Even he can play the guitar well. Nowadays, Morrison hasn't entered fame yet, but he's known around the world, because he began in 2006.
This song has made him be at the top of lists, so I think it is the most popular, but there are more, too. The song is about lost love from two ex-lovers. There's one, who has been cheated and he tries to hold on but it hurts too much. Something disappointing happened, he tries to forgive but it's not enough to make it all okay... He wants to begin again but he can't because he can't feel anything that his heart doesn't want to feel. I think the title says everything.

I like this song because of the lyrics. Also, there is something in the music that makes the song come inside. I agree with the meaning, everybody can pass through deception and love is the big topic.
When I listen to Broken Strings, it is usually when I'm a little sad and where I can be alone. It gives strength and energy to me, sometimes needed.
I love the general message given by this song, even my mood changes. It makes me think positively about going on when something isn't alright.
On the other hand, I find it the typical commercial song, and I wouldn't like me to like this. But we can't avoid it, so I will continue listening to them. I like Broken Strings in this way, I wouldn't change anything.

The images are simple. They display us the simplicity and the power of music. The images help us to feel the notes. I like the moment when the intensity starts. It is well-connected to the lyrics, since the girl appears at the suitable moment, and she doesn't appear clearly but she is shown in a glass, half blurred. There is fire, too.

To sum up, I recommend listening to this song, to try to feel its magic. It is a song that encourages ourselves and tells truths. The boy and the girl make a good couple and they sing perfectly. Finally... enjoy the music!

WHAT WILL BE MY FUTURE LIKE IN 20 YEARS?

Nowadays, I’m fifteen years old. Can I imagine myself being thirty-five? I’ll try it.
I think I won’t be perfect and I won’t have all I’d want, but some say dreaming is free.

Thinking about my appearance… I’ll be tall, but not much more than now. I’ll have soft and dark hair, and brown eyes. I’ll be quite fit.
And thinking about my personality… I’ll be friendly, responsible, good-tempered and strong inside. I’ll be a true friend of my friends, and lovely and close to my family.

I’ll live in a village, near a city. It will be situated on the plain, in Catalonia.
My house will be quite big; it will have a garden with a little playground for my children. The house will have two or three floors, and the rooms will be wide.
We’ll live together, my family and I. My husband (because I want to get married someday) will love me and our children (because I want to be mum someday). Also, I’ll get in touch with my brother and cousins, etc. very often.

I hope I’ll have no routine, or a small one. I have no idea, but maybe I’ll work as a foreign language teacher, as a basketball player, as a doctor..
The hobbies I want now to be mine in this future are going out into nature, playing the piano, doing sports… I think I’ll spend my free time with my family and myself.
My lifestyle will be enjoying each moment, learning from each day, living well, being happy and making the others happy.

HALLOWEEN STORY

It was a dark and stormy night when we were preparing everything to go out, and we were thinking what to do on Halloween’s Eve last year. I was trying on my new costume and my friends were trying on theirs. My brother was with us but our parents weren’t at home. Outside it was cold and rainy, sometimes a little windy. The sky was very dark and the streets were empty and wet.
We were preparing the Jack-o-lantern, a scary pumpkin, the make-up… when suddenly the light went off. We heard footsteps in the kitchen and upstairs. The door of the living room closed and it creaked.
In the twinkling of an eye all my friends hid behind the sofa and began to scream. We didn’t know what it was. Then, a head of a werewolf and another of a dracula appeared from the corridor. We were frightened.
I said to them: “PLEASE, DON’T HURT US, GO OUT, LEAVE HOME!”. They were approaching us slowly, with evil looks.
In some seconds one friend noticed the monsters were wearing trainers, and she said it. Then, these characters took off the masks, the false fangs, and laughed. We recognized them. They were my brother’s friends! We told them off for doing that horrible thing, but it was Halloween and we didn’t get angry. We went for trick-or-treating together and we had fun.

DAILY LIFE

My name's Marta and I'm forteen years old. I am tall, thin and I've got dark hair. I have brown eyes. I live in Berga, with my family in a flat. I go to high school every day, but I don't know what I want to be in the future.

I'm very active. I like doing activities, learning about everything... but I also like resting on the sofa, watching TV, and sleeping until late.
My daily routine is a bit different each day. First, I get up at half past seven and I have a shower. I have breakfast, put on my clothes, take the bag and with some neighbour friends we go to school together. Then, in the evenings, I go to music and English classes, I go to play basketball...

On my free time, I spend some of this doing homework but when I haven't got any I also do hobbies, like walking or running in the nature, playing computer and going out with friends. In winter I ski; I love it! In summer I like running through the beach. I like going shopping, too.
